A bounty of simple pleasures awaits you
on Whidbey Island
Whether arriving by air, by land, or by sea (and most likely all three), Whidbey Island is beautiful getting here and being here. Located just an hour away from Seattle WA, the Island can be reached by taking a 20 minute scenic ride right out of a postcard on the Mukilteo Ferry. For those with more time, and perhaps a more adventuresome spirit, Whidbey Island can also be reached through Deception Pass by car or even by bicycle.
Yes, bicycle! Many riders have been lured by the stunning beauty of this island and return on a yearly basis; just like the Orcas who also return every year! Others arrive by sea plane or regular plane, and we also have custom charters from Kenmore Air which offer flights directly onto the Island.
Because Whidbey Island is located East of the Olympic Mountains that rise 7,965 feet, we receive less than half the average rainfall of Seattle!(Wiki Whidbey)
But don’t settle with just the gorgeous view that The Quintessa offers of the constantly changing Mt. Olympus! The Olympic National Park, with its three major ecosystems, covers nearly one million acres and makes for a wonderfully inspiring day trip. It is accessible with a short ferry ride via the Keystone – Port Townsend Ferry.
So whether your interests lay in exploring local art or history, funky shops or just beach-combing, beauty & enchantment await you … at The Quintessa!
